Check out the second episode of The Series below:
During the fall semester of her junior year at Michigan State University, Audrey Matusz decided to form an art collective. Sometimes Art House, known to it’s members as “SAH”, resulted.
Inspired by Instagram pages like the Art Hoe Collective, Matusz wanted to create a space for women and other marginalized groups to present their artwork and share their experiences.
With popular trends like #GirlGaze, originally meant to promote advancement and portray women in new lights, saturating Instagram with typical model shots, the SAH crew aims to do something different. Matusz felt these trends left out darker skinned women and others that don’t fit standard of being white or light-skinned.

A selection from a very meaningful photo shoot for Matusz.
As a result, she aims to be as inclusive as possible. Several artists run the Sometimes Art House Instagram feed meaning it posts diverse media ranging from music video clips to paintings and photos.

Matusz’s personal Instagram reflects the same goals as the collective, featuring many photos near to her heart and core to her vision.
