Sets at Common Ground Music Festival, Life in Color and PRIME Music Festival among others rank among VADR’s accomplishments. This week, he sat down to discuss his journey from a Texas teenager that flew planes to an up and coming Electronic/Hip-Hop DJ and producer.
When he arrived in East Lansing from Dallas to attend Michigan State, VADR–birth name Addison Brown–knew no one. He wasn’t even sure if he wanted to continue DJ-ing. Every bit of growth he had came from pushing himself to network and put his name out there.
Brown’s dedication stands out immediately in the interview. It’s clear he doesn’t do anything half-way. Though mostly self-taught, music comes first for VADR and he’s obsessive with making everything he does sound good…Even if it means getting punched in the face.
